A Mari Usque Ad Mare
“Greetings! Take me from my leader.”, said no human to any martian. Yet.
Hang on for a good read of some Canadian Pride and in the end you can have at a valuable tip to help with focus while at your computer.
Feb 15 is National Flag Day of Canada and A Mari Usque Ad Mare is Latin for “from sea to sea” and it is Canada’s motto.
That Latin phrase appears at the bottom of the Canada coat of arms and it refers to Canada’s vast size, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. It comes from Pslam 72:8 in the bible.
Sixty years ago our flag flew for the first time on Parliament Hill. It represents diversity, peace, and Canadian pride around the world.
In fact Canadian pride has been celebrated in my friends’ backyard in the California Redwoods for a couple of decades. Check out Juju’s Message of support and love for Canada. She organizes the yearly festivities.
Home and Native Land?
“Our Home and Native Land” is what I sang as part of the Canadian National Anthem at dusk for many years for the annual Canada Day party in California.
While I seem to know a little more about some Canadian history – more than the average Joe, Canada is not my native land.
I actually made the agument that “I do sing the Canadian National Anthem at our party yearly” as my reasoning for renouncing my American Citizenship almost two years ago.
That decision cost me $2350 USD.
I was happy with the decision results and I am in tune with Canada’s diversity for what we call Multi-culturism.
A Whole New World?
The world is changing very quickly before our eyes. Some outsiders do not like our diversity in cultures.
I used to revel in the feeling I got from Independance Day celebrations in small town USA right around our Canada Day celebrations.
And now I’m feeling – a building Canadian pride revolving around this National Flag Day – Feb 15, 2025.
It is with this building Canadian pride that I concentrate on a whole new world.
I prefer to leave you, one of my readers with an upbeat positive feeling.
In that regard, I’ve removed a link on an article by Michael James – a US News reporter and I leave it up to you to search that out.
We each need to figure out how to deal with this whole new world and I’m feeling there is no longer a choice with taking action.
Canadian Pride exists on both sides of the border and many other places around the world.
Online Business as Usual?
All the power to you if you can.
The headlines are unavoidable and I think my American friends don’t even see half of the news items that we Canadians do.
Thankfully there ARE many news sources but eventually you even have to wonder how much of THAT is fake.
But it’s that “business as usual” state of mind that I strive for as I implement the organic strategies I am learning to build good relationships without sending me back into bankrutpcy.
And to accomplish this “business as usual”, I find a good mix of YouTube channels playing in the background help me to focus.
Perhaps they will help you to focus two (wink, wink, nudge, nudge):
Play both at once while you work.
And if you want any more tips like that – go check out that organic reach video I got linked below my picture on this page. Be smart about gaining access to this video – it contains valuable advice for the taking.
Conclusion?
Why are all my headings ending with question marks?
Sign of the times, baby!
You got little peeks into both my personal life and my online business life.
You can even read my thoughts in another post on having a good Life-Work Balance
But the signs of the times are needing some snuffing out. Enjoy the sounds of focus to counter that.
We revel in celebrating National Flag Day in Canada.
A mari usque ad mare.
Perhaps you are like me and feel there is no longer a choice in taking action as mentioned in this blog.
Do you believe Canada should remain its own sovereign nation contrary to some remarks made openly on social media?
Please let me know in the comments, yes or no.
Hi Robert,
This was a really interesting read! I didn’t know much about National Flag Day of Canada before, but I enjoyed learning about its history and the meaning behind A Mari Usque Ad Mare. It’s always great to see people celebrating their heritage and traditions, especially in unique ways like your annual Canada Day party in California.
I also liked the focus tip at the end, combining Tibetan bowls with white noise sounds like a great way to create a calming and productive atmosphere. I’ll have to give it a try! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

I am just going to say it – the idea Canada will become a 51st American state is insulting to Canadians. It is insulting to most Americans, too. I know you (a collective you) will not allow it.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Isn’t having Trump’s BS either. President Zelenskyy isn’t having it. The resistance is imploding from outside of the US to Washington DC.
I’m here for it.
