My 5 Ways of Achieving that Peaceful Easy Feeling
Firmly set in Chapter 3 of The Iceberg Effect is all about finding your Why in achieving affiliate marketing success.
In this blog post I talk about my 5 ways of achieving that peaceful easy feeling plus or minus 2.
I always try to adhere to the 5 +/- 2 rule in lists.
It’s not just about knowing what you want to achieve, but more importantly why.
And when you know your Why intimately – these are the things that will carry you through the rough spots. Rough spots in your business as well as your personal life.
And when it comes down to it, we are all looking for that peaceful easy feeling.
It’s quite possibly one of the bigger passions that I place high on a list of goals.
How do you achieve such a goal?
You can certainly add to this list.
They go something like this:
My 5 Ways of Achieving that Peaceful Easy Feeling
- Finances
- Travel
- Assist Friends and Family
- Comfortable in Semi-retirement
- Number one on my paper list, to be busy with goals in mind.
That was a summary level of the ways of Robert. But speaking of easy – I also suggest you check out a prior blog post about traffic in a post I title, \”Dealt With in an Easier Manner“.
I break down the 5 ways of Robert as follows.
1 Finances
I’d prefer to be financially on par (or better) with my piers.
Retirement is on the horizon.
And as I retire, I’d like to be able to pitch in my fair share for normal every day living as well as for recreational activities.
2 Travel
I have lots of travel left in me and it centers in and around North and Central America.
So many people to see and places to visit. To point out a few:
- friends in Santa Cruz California, USA
- relatives in Wisconsin, USA
- family in Ontario, Canada
- a friend in Florida, USA
- any number of places in Mexico on the Carribean
- Oahu, Hawaii, USA
There’s also a ton of more local places I’d like to visit and catch up with friends like in, Jasper Alberta, Vancouver BC and Prince George BC.
And now I think I got the bug for going abroad. I’d consider a trip to the UK if a conference were to be called for Internet Profits.
3 Assist friends and family
We all have friends and maybe family that appears out of the blue and in dire straights. I really want to be in a position to not hesitate with offering monetary assistance for family and friends in need.
4 Comfortable in Semi-retirement
Retirement age is coming up quick for me. And the best way I can approach this milestone is with semi-retirement in mind. I can’t picture sitting still in retirement – just semi sitting still to stop and smell the roses along the way. 💐
5. To be Busy with Goals in Mind
This was the killer during a recent meet with my accountant. He asks me why I continue to work on this online business the way I do. My answer (even though I have monetary aspirations) was to keep me busy with goals in mind. And now he wants me to do something that won’t cost me money. I have a Co-branded Sales Page with Dean Holland. And I certainly want to maintain my subscription to the Affiliate System where I can create funnels, write blog posts (like these), maintain a newsletter and so much more!
In my accountant’s mind, he thinks I am not making progress if I am not making money and he sees no point with me continuing down this path. I put a little spark in his eyes the day I reached a four figure commission – but I’m still working on achieving regular progress like that.
But also to me – progress is figuring stuff out and getting better at it.
And when that stuff gets challenging – that’s when I go back to my WHY.
My WHY gets me to a peaceful easy feeling.
A Musical Conclusion with some Bubble Pops
It’s funny – a YouTuber friend of mine does streaming live sessions walking the Las Vegas strip and Freemont. And he freaks at that peaceful easy feeling.
You hear him say oh no! The Eagles…and his stream goes silent as we pass the offending music.
Apparently his videos get de-monetized by YouTube if he has any copy-righted music playing in the background.
Music is a backup for my WHY. And if all else fails…
Now, I’m not one to be making fun of folks with addiction problems.
But you – like me – may be an addict of bubble wrap! Pop Pop Pop!
Anyways – have a listen to get some ahhh in your life…
Let me know in the comments if you have a top go-to remedy to get over the tough spots and get that peaceful easy feeling.
And a bottom line query for one of my steady readers (Kate). I know you do your blogs with text bolded. I DO make the effort to set each line of text in my blog posts to a size large. Is it making a difference Kate?
I got that peaceful easy feeling when you mentioned my name as I listened to the song. I must admit, FB and IG going down created an anxious feeling. Listening to the song brought back memories of my wild past. All that in one perfect song!
Very happy to assist with bringing back memories of your wild past. It was equally good to read in an email that the large text size is helping. I will continue to do so in my blog posts.

Hello Robert, sounds like you have a great set of goals to strive for. As for accountants they all think you are wasting time until they see the money lol then you’re the smartest one in the room.
“Show me the money”
Thanks for shining the light on an accountant’s perspective, Jon. I certainly strive to be the smartest one in the room.

Robert, your 5 ways of achieving that peaceful, easy feeling are inspiring and thought-provoking. It’s clear that you have a deep understanding of your goals and motivations, which will undoubtedly carry you through any rough spots. The emphasis on finances, travel, assisting friends and family, comfortable semi-retirement, and keeping busy with goals in mind truly resonates. Your dedication to progress and improvement, even in the face of challenges, is admirable. Thank you for sharing your insights and motivations – they are a great reminder to all of us to stay focused on our WHY.
Hi, Robert!
I like how your goals are not one-off steps but more like principles to live by or include.
Your blog is very easy to read with the larger type.
I’ve got a playlist I play in the morning titled Get a Wiggle On! It starts off with The Theme from The Monkees, Happy, Can’t Stop the Feeling, Polk Salad Annie, Footloose, Hooked On A Feeling, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, and The Cantina Band from Star Wars! I dare you not to wiggle during these songs! It’s a great way to wake up and get moving in the morning.
I hope you enjoy them!
Congratulations on that big sale! Here’s to the many ahead! Cheers!

Hi Robert,
Great great blog entry! (I doubled up on the great because now you’ve got to add a friend in Ottawa, Ontario to possibly come visit!).
Love the importance of finding your own “why”. I’ve always felt that if I can’t find that reason, that purpose, that WHY, there was no way that I could either live the life that I had dreamed about and even less help those around me.
Thank you for the reminder!
Hey Robert! I loved your blog and could not agree more. I too want a good, and financially free, peaceful retirement. And I too have friends in several of those locations you want to travel to also. And I too love music and the EAGLES and have even had some personal chats with them and they are from North Texas where I live..And as far as trying to find my peace(which can be very hard at times) I love playing music, eating good food, reading a good book, traveling, exercising, and fishing. Keep up the great blogs and I look forward to talking to you soon.

Robert, that is a wonderful set of WHYs. It’s great that you have it clearly laid out of what you would like to do with the time and the lifestyle that you are building. Visiting family and friends and keeping in touch is so important. This lifestyle will allow you the time to go and visit and also work anywhere. You could be at a relative health in a different city in the world and still on your business. I wish you all the success with this and look forward to the day when you start booking your tickets for all these visits. Thanks, Atif

I enjoyed reading your list of WHY’s. I know all of us can relate to this all too well. I see Florida is on your list of places you want to visit. I know Florida is quite an attractive location to those from the UK and I can’t blame you there. I’m just a little north of Florida, located in Atlanta, yet I am originally from Florida. I look forward to hearing all about your future travels that affiliate marketing will make possible for you!
Finding your “WHY” is so critical. I do not know where I would be without my “WHY”!!! It drives me each day to succeed no matter what the day brings. It has become an ingrained part of who I am and where I’m going. It stays in my thoughts continuously pushes me to take one step further on the journey.
Robert, Thanks for sharing things to think off when creating one’s “WHY”. It truly is the glue that holds things together.
Keep pushing to achieve your “WHY”.
