If You Don’t Stay Healthy, Padding Your Income Means Nothing
Semi-retirement is the perfect time to pad your nest egg. But what’s the point if you’re too run-down to enjoy it? Staying healthy isn’t just a lifestyle choice; it’s a strategic move. And yes, even your smoothie prep plays a role.
If you’ve recently picked up frozen spinach nuggets (those compact little pucks), you might’ve noticed they’re not exactly blender-friendly. But don’t toss them – here are two smart ways to make them work:
🧊 Option 1: Use Nuggets Directly
- Let them thaw for 5-10 minutes to soften the edges.
- Add liquid first (water, juice, or milk) to help your blender catch.
- Break them up with a spoon or knife before blending.
- Pulse before going full speed.
This works well if you’re using just one or two nuggets per smoothie.
🧃 Option 2: Pre-blend and Freeze
- Thaw and blend a batch with a splash of water.
- Pour into ice cube trays and freeze.
- Store cubes in a freezer bag for easy grab-and-blend mornings.
This method is ideal for streamlining your routine and keeping your blender happy.
🍍 Bonus Tip: Brighten the Flavour
Spinach can taste earthy when frozen. Add a squeeze of lemon or a few pineapple chunks to give your smoothie a fresh, vibrant kick.
🔪My Favourite Smoothie Contents
It has taken a while to perfect my favourite smoothie. And I challenge you to try it out. Combine all this and blend away!
- Almond Milk
- Frozen Spinach
- Frozen Blueberries
- Hemp Hearts
- Flax Seed Meal
Now, I don’t know if you can get these anymore as Yuri Elkaim has moved on to running a business as a health-prenuer coach but for good measure I like to add Yuri’s Energy Greens. You might have to do some research to see if his Energy Greens drink mix is still available.
