It sounds strange at first, but look at how it plays out.

 

When you avoid the task, delay the decision, or sidestep the action, you can’t technically fail. You’ve already chosen the outcome. There’s a strange sense of safety in that.

 

But when you try to win – when you take the step, publish the post, send the email, or build the business – you introduce the possibility of failure. And that risk can feel outside your control.

 

So the real question becomes:

Am I choosing to lose when I put off what really needs doing?

 

That one stings a little.

 

 

The Role of Ruthless Honesty

Most of the time, the delay isn’t about time management. It’s about fear, uncertainty, or the discomfort of stepping into something new.

 

And it takes ruthless honesty to admit that.

 

Ask yourself:

• Am I doing the things I know I should do?
• Or am I putting them off because taking action feels risky?

 

The truth is, the choice to act is just as available as the choice to delay. One isn’t harder than the other – they just lead to different futures.
