Truth Be Known
Editor’s note: This edition includes another one of my musical interludes.
Do You Stand Behind Everything You Promote?
I do believe it is good practice, but is it always practical?
Someday…something might make sense to promote without trying it out first.
But for now – Truth Be Known – I currently do stand behind all that I promote.
And I do take contsistent action to be Healthy and Wealthy and Wise as noted in a prior blog post of mine.
Case in point, I promote products I’ve used for…
Health
Truth be Known – BiOptimizers is a great company – not only for the many supplements I’ve made use of – but also for being able to promote their products as an affiliate.
Just to make that stand out, I was walking down a street in the Sunnyside community of Calgary wearing a BiOptimizers hoodie and a nice young lady stopped me to say she had never seen anyone wearing the “merch” of BiOptimizers.
She turned out to be quite the influence on me as she stated that you only need one good customer that’ll potentially put you in the money for recurring commissions for many months to come.
Not only does BiOptimizers have the products – but they have an affiliate program along with a great Facebook group where much more learning and input from me is encouraged.
On a bit of side-note, I competed in their very first 21-day Plant Based Challenge – where I learned much about the healthy living with consuming a plant-based diet. While I do remain to be a carnivore – my due diligence in participating in that challenge got me declared as the Grand Prize Winner.
I mean – like who woulda thunk a little contest like that would get me some real cool supplements for free AND a $2100 USD prize to boot!
Education for Affiliate Marketing
The Iceberg Effect that I talk about frequently – is in fact (If you’ll allow me to use the term) the tip of the iceberg.
I mean, I’m not going to get rich from commissions I make from giving away that book.
Editor’s Side note: Make note that if you run a Facebook Lead Ad, do not use the words, “Replace a full-time income” as the Facebook Ad bots will eventually declare it as an unrealistic outcome. To me, it IS a realistic outcome but if you consider that many affiliate marketers give up before that happens – I guess if you’re going on percentages – the bots are correct.
But it helps to enlighten my customers about the state of affiliate marketing today and then it makes total sense for a trickle of customers that actually want the mentorship, coaching and continued learning – for commissions to add up to a nice little supplement for semi-retirement.
If you’d like to learn more about the state of affiliate marketing today, I invite you to subscribe to my email list that gets deliver almost every week day. Simply click on the Free 10 Min. Video link on the sidebar or if on mobile scroll down towards the bottom. The link is below my picture.
I give you access to a video training about what it takes for doing business as an affiliate marketer AND be profitable with it – in today’s economy.
…and a little secret for you…they also have an excellent Facebook group or two to encourage engagement and learning.
Supplemental Learnings
Now back to BiOptimizers, Truth be Known – one of their best selling supplements on Clickbank is their Magnesium Breakthrough.
I initially started out using their best-in-class probiotic because their competitor’s stuff that is sold on store shelves just didn’t seem to cut it for me – or more precisely – did not cut it for the nutrients that pass through my body.
As time went on, I started trying out their other supplements including a plant-based protein…but I’ll leave the promotion of that to another day.
Today I’d like to zero in on, “What you need to know before buying Magnesium.“.
A 2010 review of natural treatments for anxiety found that magnesium could be a treatment for anxiety.
More recently, a 2017 review that looked at 18 different studies found that magnesium did reduce anxiety.
These studies looked at mild anxiety, anxiety during premenstrual syndrome, postpartum anxiety, and generalized anxiety.
According to this review, one of the reasons why magnesium might help reduce anxiety is that it may improve brain function. Now, you might be thinking… “there are a gazillion magnesium products out there, if magnesium were the solution to stress — more people would be stress-free.”
The problem is two-fold.
FIRST, almost everyone is SEVERELY deficient in magnesium — even those who get the “recommended daily dose”…
Because higher stress levels (common for ambitious folks like us) require much higher than RDA doses. And SECOND…
Most magnesium supplements fail to help you beat stress…
Now that you understand how critical magnesium is for everything — it might be tempting to run out to your local drug or health food store and buy some magnesium.
That would be a mistake, though — because most magnesium products do nothing, for two primary reasons:
- They are synthetic, unnatural, and not recognized by your body… and…
- They are NOT FULL SPECTRUM
Which means they are missing the various forms of magnesium needed to target various organs in the body and to handle all sources of stress — and boost your performance in every key area.
Most people get 1-2 forms of synthetic magnesium (at best); which is why they typically feel little or nothing from supplements.
But there’s a miracle that occurs when your body gets ALL the magnesium that it needs, in all the forms that it needs at the optimal dosage.
If You’re *Only* Taking ONE Form Of Magnesium — YOU ARE STILL DEFICIENT.!
Why Getting ALL 7 FORMS Of Magnesium Transforms Your Stress And Performance check
Musical Interlude
As an extra bonus, check out this “Truth Be Known” recording from ’97. And they’re on tour again in 2024! That is certainly a tour I can stand behind and promote – The Love Earth Tour. Too bad I will not be in Toronto on May 20. I last saw Santana on that Budweiser stage.
In Conclusion
I do stand behind every product that I promote as an affiliate. But that’s not to say I always will.
This blog of mine is all about the things I learn and have learned in the way of being healthy, wealthy and wise.
In health I have my Bioptimizer Supplements. In wealth, I am proud to stand behind a number of products that I am an affiliate for – including the UK-based company Internet Profits. And in being wise – there is much learning to be had in achieving success with being healthy and wealthy.
If you’d like to connect with me on you can do that my subscribing to my email list which is linked to a free 10 minute video link below my picture.
Let me know in the comments whether you think it wise to be a consumer of a product BEFORE you promote that product as an affiliate.
I 100% agree that you should be a user of any product that you promote as an affiliate after all if you don’t or haven’t used or tried the product it would seem to be wrong to sing its praises. You’ve actually given me a great idea for an outline for a post,
Glad to have helped out with a blog post idea, Steve. Also please know any comments that I’ve sent back to you are meant to help you out – no harm is intended.

Hi Robert,
This was a great post! How are you supposed to be able to sell anything if you can’t back up what others have experienced when using your products? I totally agree that you should use them yourself as well. I think it’s great that you have multiple affiliates programs going at one time. Best of luck to you!

Hi Robert,
Definitely need to back what you’re promoting. So many times and so many offers out there that are just looking for “the quick buck”.
Being able to say that the product you’re promoting is something that you’ve tried and currently working with is one big way to make sure that your followers know that integrity is not only part of your vocabulary but part of your every day life.
I hear ya Marc. I have been involved with other Affiliate Marketing business models where they don’t even have customer lists. They just blast out their videos and rely on the AI to find interested customers. It works well for some – but it IS a quick buck with no customer interaction nor more importantly to me – no community to get involved in.

Hi Robert,
Absolutely agree. You shouldn’t promote something that you haven’t personally used or tried first. Your name and reputation are at stake with whatever you endorse. While there’s a plethora of products and services to promote out there, especially in the realm of internet marketing, it’s crucial to maintain seriousness and integrity in our promotional endeavors.
I wish you all the best in your journey.

I thank you for your comments Ezequiel. I’m thinking I should do an interview of someone with a differing view on this. There are likely pros and cons to promoting products that one does not have experience with. I think it would come down to perhaps a product that was recommended by a reliable and trusted source where I’d go ahead with such a promotion.

Robert,
Of course, you should have experience with, at least, the front-end offer of a product or funnel. The best Affiliate Marketers get to know a prospect’s problem and then introduce them to a product that will help them overcome their problem. How is it possible to confidently promote a solution to a problem, if you have no personal knowledge of the solution?
Cheers
Phil
Hi, Robert! It is important to have personal experience with a product you recommend. Not only is trust at stake, but firsthand knowledge gives you something unique to say. I think that’s really important as an affiliate. You must be able to say this personal experience is why I’m behind this product in order to stand out from the crowd.
I am going to check out that magnesium product. I have migraines and anxiety. I know from my own research there are many types of magnesium, and they are sold separately, so you never get all of what you need.
Thanks for your personal recommendation! Makes me more comfortable checking it out 🙂
I agree – post what you believe in and actually use! The audience will see right through the deception and worse, will not trust you going forward. Also, get tip on Facebook Lead Ad wording.
