Being a Busy Fool Can be Fun…
…if you are in the Dilly Dally Dayze of Marketing.
You’re likely here because you want to know what it’s like to run a profitable affiliate marketing business online. And that’s what I’m trying to do – live the dream and show you the way!“.
But there will be “Dilly Dally Dayze”.
Oh my! I’m shocked and embarrassed at my subject line. It’s a rain day and perfect time to tackle reading of any of those three books in the picture.
They all lend a hand at getting things done right.
They sit on my desktop taunting me to pick them up, but I had better “busy fool” things to do to fill my time with – these last few days.
It’s one thing to catch yourself being a busy fool and it’s another to continue that behaviour beyond a day. Don’t do it! It’s a trap.
And when I say “busy fool” I mean doing things that do not directly affect moving your business forward.
Taking care of Business – Or Not
I have not been posting blogger’s posts on my social medias.
I have not been continuing my Skooling with the Beginners Advantage coaching course.
I have even missed a few days of sending weekday emails to my subscribers.
But I’m making myself busy looking at other guru’s latest and greatest solutions.
But no worries, I got no money for them shiny new things anyways – just stayin’ in the loop.
I’ve also dealt with Microsoft to solve an authenticator app problem.
And there’s a few other Excel copy paste sessions that filled up my time – I do like my data!
I keep on brainstorming about my next attempt at a short video clip. But the more I think on it, the more steadfast I am with thinking that I use the YouTube platform as a place to store my videos – not to build a following. I expect my followers to come from either my blogs or through my email subscribers.
What I WILL have to do is take Dean’s advice and maybe setup a regular live meet and greet – Maybe I can do that on YouTube.
A Leader of Like-minded Affiliates
A lot of what I do has to do with introducing you to my leaders.
That was you – that demanded I take you to my leader, was it not? 🙂
Meet my mentor, a successful affiliate marketer and get to know him and his speaking voice.
You can get a feel for Dean’s speaking style to see if you want more or not.
Just get subscribed to get mostly weekday emails from me about my journey from bankrptcy to comfortable retirement and in return I’ll get you access to a short video to check out Dean’s speaking style.
Dean can do wonders with helping you and your business get pointed in the right direction.
Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch…
I’d say I do all this Dilly Dallying because I’m putting off doing up the 12 month budget for next meeting with my financial planner.
And I KNOW one of my online repertoire will have to go. So instead of thinking about the inevitable, I do other things to bide my time.
My biggest problem right now is traffic…finding more folks that are like me wanting to buck the trends of being an affiliate and supplement an income with some part-time effort at home.
The organic blog and video hopping traffic strategies are certainly time consuming.
And I want get back to first quarter 2024 levels…back before I declared bankruptcy.

47 Week Milestone – Looking Forward
This week I do celebrate 47 weeks to retirement.
In Retirement I plan on staying connected to my online communities and running my business with a couple hours effort daily
Given that I’ve held onto a standing pool of savings over the first half of my bankruptcy period, I have decided to get back into Facebook Lead Ads (on a budget) – I mean it’s the kind of thing that prompts me to spring right out of bed to get started on in the morning or quickly reacting to a Make notification that a piece of the cog is down.
Whatever your next step be,
implanted in your brain is the phrase,
“The perfect time is now.“.
Let me know in the comments what you do on your Dilly Dally Dayze.
(and that might mean just a morning of hurkle durkle, yes?) 🙂
Hi Bob,
Great insights on navigating those “Dilly Dally Dayze”! It’s so easy to get sidetracked by shiny objects and busy work that doesn’t contribute to growth. We are all guilty of that from time to time. Those books on your desk sound like perfect companions for staying focused and productive. It’s all about finding that balance and making sure those small tasks align with your goals. What strategies do you find help keep you on track during those busy times? Thanks!

Thanks for your comments Meredith. For me it’s really about staying focussed at the task at hand. And it’s the transistion to the next task where I need particular focus because this is where one can so easily go off the rails and start going down a surfing rabbit hole.
