Facebook Is Not Playing Nice
While I am gearing up for running more Facebook campaigns, it has been a long while since I ran my last ad.
If you run Facebook ads/Lead ads or plan to – this post is for you.
An Old Trainer Popped up on my RADAR
Prior to becoming an affiliate to help folks get an affiliate marketing business online done right with some valuable digital education, I was involved in some faceless affiliate marketing via YouTube and Google ads.
It was a costly venture and one was expected to spend hundreds of dollars almost daily for advertising in hopes of getting their “breakthrough”.
The training was good and we had weekly meetings to go over what was and wasn’t working.
I eventually had to give up on that venture but I still have some of the tools to use in my current promotions.
One of the trainers started a daily week-long training session to essentially do the same thing but solely with Facebook ads.
We got some good coaching to use the Facebook Ads Library: https://facebook.com/ads/library
And the strategy made use of ChatGPT to get it to summarize some of the landing pages we found in that ads library.
It sounded like a good venture but I am not able to spend a lot these days so I had to pass on the offer.
Searching and Scrolling the Ads Library
I was finding that ads library to be most useful and I wanted to make my next Meta Campaign stand out.
I wasn’t firm on the search terms I would use in that ads library, so I was doing a fair bit entering different search terms.
And during those searches I would think of more terms to plug in.
BAD IDEA – so I learned.
All of a sudden, I got a pop-up with the message that I had been blocked. What a shock!
As near as I can gather, I was scrolling too fast and plugging in too many search terms.
A Google search revealed lots of other folks having the same issue from years ago.
And some of them saying it has not stopped.
The best I can get from Facebook is that the block could last a day, a couple of days, and even years! Ugh!
Thankfully it was just a block on that Ads Library – everything else was intact.
Just Playing Nice – Then Bam!
’round about the same time, all of a sudden I get a message that one of my Facebook ads had been rejected.
At first I thought it was a scam but my Meta Business Suite confirmed it was real.
More ugh, lol!
The ad in question was last ran in March 2024 – like nine months ago – and it was inactive.
Wow. I did not know they could do that.
And I instantly thought about a blog post I made that would help someone like me in my predicament.
But that post was on my now defunct RobertKleinOnline domain.
I know a lot of folks made a point of bookmarking it.
And if you want to know how I fixed this, just have a re-read if you are a regular follower.
Or have your first read with fresh eyes on this domain.
Facebook Ad Rejections and What To Do About Them
I took the stance that I would never run the ad again and that Facebook was right about the rejection.
I followed the directions and within less than a day – my inactive ad was approved, lol.
Conclusion
With all the issues that one can run into when dealing with Facebook, you might think it would be advantageous to seek out a Facebook Guru to stay on top of the right things to do.
Don’t search too much…Don’t scroll too fast…Make sure all inactive ads are compliant…the list goes on…
But I also caution you as one of my Facebook Guru’s puts it,
“Unless Meta clearly articulates something, it’s uncertain. It’s up for debate. The truth of what actually happens is fuzzy and based on personal experiences.
That’s why I tune out when advertisers speak in black and white terms about things that aren’t officially clear. You should, too.”
To tune into your knowledge of the fact that Facebook Is Not Playing Nice,
and to not fall for the meta ads snake oil out there,
I suggest you check out this YouTube Video.
Just to get a smattering of examples, let me know in the comments whether you’ve had rulings handed down to you on social media – and on what platform this occurred. I just can’t believe that Facebook is the only one.
Hi Robert,
Thanks for sharing this! It’s really helpful to hear about your experiences with Facebook ads and the Ads Library. I have had my own issues lately with Facebook too. I didn’t realize scrolling or searching too much could cause a block, that’s crazy! It’s good to know you were able to get your rejected ad issue sorted out quickly. Social media platforms can be so unpredictable! I’ll check out that YouTube video you mentioned, sounds like it could be really useful. Thanks!

Thank you for the tips presented here. I am about to embark on a Facebook lead ad adventure. I fully expect a smooth ride. However I am fully aware that Facebook is a pain and can be unpredictable. TikTok is the same. I have pretty good luck on YouTube, so far at least. Now that they have AI bots going through everything, it is more difficult to be squeaky clean.
Hey, Robert!
So far, I’ve had no problem with my Facebook Lead Ad. I’ve just started with TikTok, so we’ll see how that goes. Good luck with your ventures! I hope all goes smoothly this week. Happy Holidays!

I can completely relate to your experience with Facebook ads! I’ve tried several times and honestly haven’t seen the results I expected. I faced issues like unstable charges and variations in costs, and at times, I wasn’t sure if I selected the right options. The cost per lead was also too high, and I encountered some fake leads, which was frustrating. Because of this, I’ve decided to pause my ad campaigns for now and focus on free traffic sources like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram instead. It seems more sustainable for my current goals. Thanks for sharing your insights; it’s helpful to know I’m not alone in this! All the Best.
Hello My Friend! I love it that you never give up! It seems that you have faced quite a bit of adversity when trying to make this a go, but your perseverance is motivating and inspiring! I continue to wish you much success as you find that perfect platform for people to hear what you have to say… which is immensely valuable! Thank you for this inspiring post!
